Whole Care Approach
I believe that every pregnancy is unique and deserves individualized attention. I work closely with each birthing parent, partners, and/or support person to develop a personalized doula plan that addresses their specific needs and concerns prenatally, during labor, and postpartum. I want to be able to advocate for my clients and make their pregnancy, birth, and post partum experience better then their past labors & family/friend's experiences.
How does it all work?
Interview:
The first meeting is complementary. It is a time for us to get to know each other and decide if we are a good fit to work together. It is very important that you and your partner and/or support person are comfortable with me and with my role in the birth.
Prenatal Meetings:
Once I am chosen to be part of your support team, we will meet 1-2 times before labor begins to discuss your priorities. These meetings allow me to provide practical resources and customize your support for pregnancy and labor--because every birth is different! I am available via text, phone call or email any time you need to chat. My on-call period starts at 38 weeks until baby is born.
Labor & Birth:
I offer continuous support throughout labor and birth through physical support, encouragement, advocacy, reassurance, and knowledge. I want to provide confidence and empower you and your partner and/or support person to have a fulfilling birth.. I generally remain with families for 1-2 hours after birth, until you are comfortable, and your newly born family is ready for quiet time together.
Post Partum:
My services include one postpartum visit (unless you need more), typically within the first few weeks after the birth. During the visit, I can provide baby feeding support, baby care tips, referrals to community resources, and a chance to discuss your birth story.
